The Children's Cast in

In Hairspray it's 1962 - the '50s are out and change is in the air. Baltimore's Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion--to dance. She wins a spot on the local TV dance program, 'The Corny Collins Show' and, overnight, is transformed from outsider to irrepressible teen celebrity. But can a trendsetter in dance and fashion vanquish the program's reigning princess, win the heart of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show without denting her hairdo? Hairspray is a light hearted social commentary on the injustices of parts of American society in the 1960s.                    Only in Hairspray!    Welcome to the '60s!

Thank you to all who auditioned for this show.  It was especially hard this year, since there are not specific parts of children to play.  But we still want to have children on the streets of Baltimore, in our show.
Please know that we want to encourage you to audition again.  If you did not make it this year it's not because you did a bad job.  It's just that we were unable to cast any more children than this.  We hope to see you again in the future.  Keep working on your skills to help you do the best in an audition:  singing, acting and dancing...and enjoying life.  By the way, make sure your family watches as much musical theater as possible.  Watch DVD's of musicals, including the wonderful, older ones!  As well as attend as much live theater as you can.

Congratulations to the following Hairspray Cast Members!  Read the times below.  Expect an email in the next few days from Mrs. Sirian concerning the upcoming Oct 6th parents meeting and future rehearsals for you.  And by the way, WELCOME TO THE SIXTIES!
