WARNING: Please make good decisions about using technology to share your emotions! Sharing your happy or sad thoughts (excited or angry thoughts) can be very dangerous to your relationships to your friends in the Performing Arts Department, as well as your future in the Choir and Theater Department. If you don’t get the role that you have been hoping for, please take some time away from your phone and your computer. ALSO, if you DO get the role that you have been hoping for, be careful of what you put into print! You could easily crush a friend if they didn’t get the role that they have dreamed of. Be conscious and caring about your relationships with your friends. Also know that if you spew poison on Facebook, know in advance that you will be burning many bridges for the rest of the year. THINK – WAIT and then respond. This is written in love from your directors! IMPORTANT: READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION. BALLET AUDITION This audition will be held at Dance Dynamics Studio, on Maple Road in Walled Lake. You should attend this dance audition IF: a. You have been called back for either Christine or Meg b. You are interested in being considered for a BALLERINA CORPS DANCER c. You are interested in being considered for a NOVICE BALLERINA All other students do NOT need to come to this audition. Please make sure to be dressed appropriately. Super slicked back hair in a pony tail. (Gel the wispys!) Black leotard, Pink tights, No jewelry, ballet slippers. DO NOT WEAR POINTE SHOES unless you have had several years of pointe class. For many of you, this audition will be to see if you can ACT and LOOK like a highly trained ballet dancer! We will be watching to see how you hold ALL of your body: Toes, feet, legs, core, torso, chest, arms, hands, head and eyes. Again, as an actor who wants 'the job', you should be watching the many YouTube links to understand this very disciplined art. We will be able to tell if you are there as an ACTOR DANCER or if we should be considering you as an actual dancer. You will learn several combinations at this audition. BEST TO EACH OF YOU! Wednesday & Thursday - CALL BACK WORKSHOP!
Mrs. Gleason and Matt Croft will be guiding you through this workshop rehearsal. This time is for you! It's to help you come to the actual call back audition, well prepared to sing and act as best you can. Please come at the specific time when your 'call back role' is being rehearsed. Again, this time is to help your actual Friday call back audition go more smoothly. Think of it this way; on Friday, at your real call back audition, it will not be the first time that you are singing the actual songs. And yes, on Friday, no one will be given any time to spend practicing the songs, so this is it. We really hope that you can make good use of this time!! The schedule will be as follows. Note that it is NOT the same on both days. WEDNESDAY CALLBACK WORKSHOP SCHEDULE- CHOIR ROOM 2:30 - Andre, Firmin, Don Attilo, Raoul, Piangi, Buquet 3:15 - Phantom, Raoul 3:45 - Carlotta 4:15 - Madame Giry, Meg, Confidante 4:30 - Christine THURSDAY CALLBACK WORKSHOP SCHEDULE- You will start running the song in the choir room, and then go to the stage and try your song! So someone being called back for Andre practices in the choir room at 2:30 and then around 3:00, they go over to the stage and try their song.
